De 40- jarige Jackie O. pausing at the curbside in Manhatten at the start of the ravishing 70-ties. She’s an absolute style icon. The skirt, the boots, the bag an off course, who can forget the era-defining Jackie O sunglasses! En dan the surroundings: New York, Manhattan 1969, je lijkt er zo in te kunnen stappen. Oh, how we wish we could go back there and bumb into fabulous Jackie O, on an outing on Fifth Avenue.

Precies één jaar hiervoor, on Oct. 20, 1968, the former first lady stunned her adoring public by remarrying. Five years after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, she donned a wedding dress, entered a candlelit chapel and pronounced “I do” to Aristotle Onassis, a wealthy Greek shipping tycoon. From that moment on, she would forever be “Jackie O.”
